Over the weekend I went to a Post-Apocalyptic Diorama Making Workshop at the Observatory in Brooklyn.

We only had two hours, so I picked a theme - post-apocalyptic fashion design studio - and went with it.

I really like my wall of bows. I would love to make a life size version and play more with color and texture or on a smaller scale maybe some sort of sculptural piece.

This is a self portrait of sorts (see if you can find me). The continuing fascination with florals in fashion inspired this as well as my own obsession with the themes of nature.

I thought this poem my sister wrote and this image I saved from a magazine (American Vogue I think) seemed darkly suited to one another.
I wish I knew who the photographer was to credit but I do not have the magazine anymore to reference it.

A few years ago I was in the middle of a very frustrating drawing session and my mum, who is an artist, came over and offered me this advice; stop trying to draw the object, try drawing the space around it instead. After that my perspective sort of shifted and now I pay a lot more attention to shapes and negative space.
Originally I was simply cutting up this Bottega Veneta ad because I liked the causal elegance of the dress (and pockets, yes plz) but then I saw her silhouette emerge…
